AfterShock Recording provides  studio and remote recording, pub, club and small outdoor
venue sound reenforcement, desktop publishing (i.e.: Cd covers and inserts, gig posts, promo
packs), photography (staged and/or live), Cd duplication, format transfer, and archiving. It's
all done. It's all good. It's mostly private. If you know me, you're in the family.

The social nature of music has brought together a family of: musicians, artists, craftsmen,
and all around inspirational and creative people. AfterShock Recording has always been and
continues to be a support system and outlet for creativity.

The AfterShock family currently centers around two bands local to the Hudson Valley:
FallenApart, and BuddyRoss.  Each regularly appear at clubs in and around upstate New
York, often as a double bill. Contact me

The Studio has resided in a 2nd floor apartment in Poughkeepsie, where I had lived for many
years along with my growing collection of gear.  I converted my bathroom into the control
room, moving all the bathroom amenities into a corner. Yep you could, "but are encouraged
not to," stink up the control room. Beginning with boom boxes and cassette 4-tracks I began
as a student of audio engineering. My first electronics were bought so I could eliminate
paying an incompetent sound man after every gig. I began to provide sound reinforcement
to other local bands as well, and so on, and so on. By trading and buying up and often
sideways, a collection of electronics has become AfterShock Recording.  Money and
recording seem to be symbiotic, keeping up without deep pockets has proved to be a
constant game of chance.  My 4-Track was killed by a TSR-8, which was taken down a few
pegs by the Black Face of digital. Which was near instantly decapitated by brothers XT and
LS. HDR24 slipped into the collection with little resistance. Pro Tools 8.0 has been seamless,
although an old 2nd hand mix + rig was problematic thus short lived and replaced by a
hot rodded G5 imac - mbox  combination for editing and mixdown.

Upon returning from
The Recording Workshop as an honors graduate ,I commenced with the
construction of  and move to a new location that has been in the works for years , only now
coming to fruition. Now the new digs are done, the new studio Is complete, minus all the
things I will change to keep up..

I have been fortunate to have worked with many talented and creative people, whom have
undoubtedly shaped who I am, and what I have accomplished. To all THANK YOU and I
hope to see all of you in the studio or at a
FallenApart ,  and/or Buddy Ross, gig real soon.

The New Studio Under Construction
The Old Digs
The new studio is finally functioning.  Floated
Quiet rock walls and ceilings, High mass aurelex
vinyl between double layers of plywood floors.
Isolated drum riser and control room floor. Doubled
double pane windows on the exterior.  Salvaged
control room windows. Software tuned control room
monitoring. Isolated vocal booth. I've done my best
to make this home studio as useful as possible, with
the assets available. It works for me.
